Hi. My name is Dominique Richter and welcome to my website, African Inspirations.

Let me tell you a little about my work and myself. I am an artist by calling, not by training or choosing. From a young age I have drawn and painted. I am a woman of extraordinary talent this is fulfilling my purpose and this is my journey.

My influences and inspirations come from the effects and role that my parents played in my life. From a young age they have always been involved with fostering children, caring for them and loving them. Later on they felt lead and called to open a Home for Abandoned babies. My mother also spent a lot of time working with children in a local squatter camp. These influences had a very big impact on my life all through my childhood years. And so when I paint I am able to capture that emotion, communicating it through my art work to the world around me. It is emotional, deep and personal, communicating the experiences of the subject matter through their eyes and expressions.
